Marine Construction in Anne Arundel County MD
Bulkheads, Rock Revetments, and Shoreline Protection
Erosion can gradually take away valuable waterfront property and can eventually threaten structures near the shoreline. A properly designed shoreline protection system helps stabilize the property and reduce the effects of waves, runoff, and changing water conditions.
Anchored Marine Construction installs and repairs wooden bulkheads, vinyl bulkheads, rock revetments, and living shorelines. We can also provide additional wave protection such as rock sills, groins, and jetties when site conditions call for them.
A traditional bulkhead creates a vertical barrier that holds the shoreline in place. A rock revetment uses layers of stone over heavy filter fabric to protect a sloped shoreline and can provide a long-lasting alternative to a conventional wall. For properties where a more natural approach is appropriate, a living shoreline can combine native plantings and marsh habitat with erosion control.
There is no single shoreline solution that works for every Chesapeake waterfront property. We evaluate the shoreline, erosion conditions, property layout, and project requirements before helping you determine which approach makes the most sense.

Serving Anne Arundel County and the Chesapeake
Anchored Marine Construction is based in Pasadena and focuses on the waterways we know best. We serve waterfront homeowners throughout Anne Arundel County, including Pasadena, Annapolis, Severna Park, Arnold, and Gibson Island.
Our work extends across the region’s rivers, creeks, coves, and Chesapeake Bay waterfront, including properties along the Magothy River, Severn River, and Patapsco River.
Working locally matters because Chesapeake waterfront construction comes with conditions that general contractors may not encounter on land. Water depth, tides, shoreline erosion, soft or silty bottoms, wave exposure, existing structures, and access to the property can all affect the construction process.
We bring that local experience to every site visit and project.
